"Life is difficult. This is a great truth, one of the greatest truths. It is a great truth because once we truly see this truth, we transcend it. Once we truly know that life is difficult -- once we truly understand and accept it -- then life is no longer difficult. Because once it is accepted, the fact that life is difficult no longer matters." -- M. Scott Peck

Guide: - Are Filipinos today more determined to make their votes?
- Why do you think that most of the "artistas" who run the election lost?
- Do you think all Filipino should vote?
- Do you think that voters were wiser during the last election?
Your Opinions: "Taking our rights to vote is like taking away another part of our freedom. This shouldn't be so. But could they be right? Could they be right that un-educated people shouldn't be allowed to vote? Could they be right that most people today accept briberies? I wish I could say no, maybe I can." -- Al Reyes "A real tough nut....with no quick fix answers....politics is a subject
my old lady never even mentions and that goes for most of her circle of friends...Apathy is the word you are looking for....
the price of rice yes...the latest style of shoes yes....politics is something you rap fish and chips in.....
Yes she does vote,if she is over in the phils at the right time.
We were there in 1994 and 1998 both times she voted for the Marcos clan simply because she is from leyte and does not give it a second thought, once the cross is in the box.
She even thinks Marcos was far better than any since....
So the mind boggles....
Chow..." -- tsingtao "Even the indigents such as the aetas of Zambales, Tarlac and Boracay areas have the right to cast their ballots. The question is... are they gonna find their names on the registered voter's list??" -- Rachel "Do you think all Filipinos should vote? Yes, all Filipinos should vote. In a democratic society all people should cast their vote. The system may not always be perfect, but sitting back and not voting will never change it. The voting system should also progress with technology and as we as a people advance the system should get better. Do you think voters were wiser during the last election? Hardly, if they had been they wouldn't have needed this election." -- Mark Connelly "Are Filipinos today more determined to make their votes? i think so... i believe we had a fairly high voter's
turnout last may 14 Why do you think that most of the "artistas" who run the election lost? i think this is a sign that voters don't want another erap. Do you think all Filipinos should vote? i've actually thought about this for a long time now but i still haven't made up my mind yet. i think this is a matter of "everyone being able to vote VS. just allowing the learned to vote." i think it'll be unfair if just the "educated" people are given the right to cast votes. on the other hand, they say that the reason we have the likes of erap and miriam in the government are because of people who do not vote wisely and are more swayed by celebrities or, in the case of vote-buying, are more concerned with their day-to-day subsistence instead of the long time repercussions of voting politicians who vote-buy.... anyway (after that long paragraph), i still haven't made up my mind yet. i'll think about this more then i'll post it. Do you think voters were wiser during the last election? not that much wiser but wiser than last time." -- Clarice Talavera
